Dedert International, specialists in drying and evaporation technology, has been selected by Roquette, a global leader in plant-based ingredients for food, nutrition, and health markets, to provide a mechanical vapor recompression evaporator for the plant proteins market in Vic-sur-Aisne, France.
Roquette, a global leader in innovative plant-based food ingredients, and the pioneer of plant proteins, has committed to a huge investment program of over half a billion euros to ensure that the supply of plant protein is secure, safe and sustainable. This program includes the world’s largest pea protein facility to date being built in Manitoba, Canada and the expansion of its existing plant in Vic-sur-Aisne, France. In the medium term, Roquette’s two pea production sites in Europe and North America will generate the largest combined pea-processing capacity in the world.
Dedert’s evaporator has been in production since the end of 2018. The unit uses a mechanical vapor recompression and combo falling film evaporators equipped with chevron and is successfully meeting all design requirements. Dedert International in Europe is working together with engineers in the global headquarters in Chicago, USA, to design and commission the evaporator.
