Dedert is proud to be featured in FoodNavigator-USA, showcasing the potential of upcycling, preparing for precision fermentation scale-up with processing changes.
“Alt protein and related ingredient companies should consider how diversifying their manufacturing processes, including precision fermentation, could create more growth opportunities through upcycling”, Market Manager at Dedert, Gregory See Hoye, told FoodNavigator-USA.
See Hoye explains, “The idea of upcycling has been gaining traction over the past few years as companies look to reduce food waste and increase efficiency in production. We are committed to helping our customers achieve their goals by offering innovative solutions that can help them optimize their processes."
Downstream processing (DSP) in the manufacturing of ingredients from precision fermentation has not yet been fully explored. Secondary ingredients can be extracted from wastewater or by-product streams as value-added products while integrating process solutions to support sustainable and energy-efficient operations. Partnerships with process solutions providers, equipment suppliers, and innovation centers can help to integrate mechanical de-watering, filtration, evaporation, and thermal drying into various process streams. By doing so, production processes may be optimized to enhance the viability of the manufacturing operation and the competitiveness of the targeted products.
At Dedert, we are passionate about providing our customers with the best possible solutions to meet their needs. We understand that each customer has unique requirements and strive to provide tailored options that will help them reach their goals.
